Although heterosis has been recognized for well over a century, its molecular basis has remained a matter of debate and is surprisingly poorly understood. Recent progress has provided valuable information about the underpinnings of heterosis by comparing genetic experiment and sequence analyses in the hybrids and their parents. The conference will present recent genomic breakthroughs aiming to sharing advances of heterosis researches and its utilization in plant breeding for global food security. The conference will feature keynote speeches, plenary speeches by world-renowned experts in the field to discuss the progress of modern genomics and accelerate the genetic improvement of crops heterosis.
This conference will be dedicated to Professor Tingdong Fu in honor of his contribution to canola heterosis utilization and in recognition of his contribution to discover of polima cytoplasmic male sterility. A number of scientists in canola heterosis utilization will be welcomed.
